Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse

Mickey's Magical Christmas.jpgLate 2001 saw the first direct-to-video spinoff of the series House of Mouse. Starring Wayne Allwine, Bill Farmer, Corey Burton, Tony Anselmo, John Cleese, Russi Taylor and Tress MacNellie, Snowed in at the House of Mouse was yet another package film.

A snowstorm leaves everyone in the House of Mouse stranded and Donald doesn’t have any Christmas spirit. Mickey gathers Christmas cartoons for the patrons to watch.
Cartoons include Donald on Ice, Pluto’s Christmas Tree, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, and the Nutcracker.

Can we stop putting together loose frames as an excuse to have an anthology movie? This shouldn’t have been a direct-to-video movie. This should have been another episode of the series. It’s particularly frustrating because it was released in 2001, when House of Mouse had its first season.
There’s nothing really notable about it, but the reason it was an hour instead of half an hour is because Mickey’s Christmas Carol is 25 minutes long.
And you know what? It escapes the Edge of Dissatisfaction because it has Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
Bother.
